Building Operation and Maintenance - Smart Management System in Building Facilities for Sustainability of Low Carbon Environment

AEEMM – Associação dos Engenheiros Electrotécnico e Mecânico de Macau, with the Building Services Operation and Maintenance Executives Society (BSOMES), the South China University of Technology (SCUT) and Macau Science Center (MSC), being the co-organizers, invites all building service specialists around the region to share their knowledge and expertise with the attendees of the annual gathering for the building industry, at the 5th Greater Pearl River Delta Conference on Building Operation and Maintenance Conference, on 28th November 2014.

The main theme of the Conference is “Smart Management System in Building Facilities for Sustainability of Low Carbon Environment” which embraces the following subthemes:
    Section A –The Challenge of Alternative Energy System Penetration in Building Management
    Section B –Deployment of Advanced Technologies related to Carbon Efficiency in Building Facilities
    Section C –The Trend in Regulatory System Toward Decarbonizes Policy
    Section D –Experience Sharing in Roadmap for Evolution to Carbon Free Environment in Premises

The Organizing Committee of the Conference is cordially inviting academia, researchers, professionals and government officials to submit abstracts of papers on the above themes before 28th June 2014

Participants
Authors of the shortlisted papers will make their presentations during the Conference. Keynote speeches, to be delivered by corresponding government officials of Macau SAR and representatives of the organizer/co-organizers, will also form an essential part of the Conference. Attendees, expected to be those working at the tactical and management levels of organizations in the private and public sectors, will include government officers, academia, consultants, contractors, engineers, facility/property managers, technical managers and the like who are responsible for design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance and management of built facilities.

Submissions
The abstract of each paper, type-written on one A4 sheet, shall begin with the paper title, followed by the name(s), position(s), affiliated organization(s),address(es) and email(s) of the author(s), including an indication for the corresponding author. The abstract length is limited to 300 words for its text, plus at most five keywords. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Conference’s Technical Committee, which comprises scholarly academia, researchers and specialists in the GPRD region. Upon acceptance of an abstract, the corresponding author will be informed before 28th July 2014 about the format for the full paper, which shall be confined to 10 pages and submitted by 28th September 2014. Accepted papers will be published in the Conference proceedings. All submissions, which must be original and have not been published elsewhere, shall be emailed to: chong.lam@aeemm.org.mo

Commercialism
AEEMM has a policy against the use of commercial trade names, company names or language that is commercial in tone in titles, text or slides. Use of such terms will result in careful scrutiny by the Chairs and the Organizing Committee, in evaluating abstract proposals and the presence of commercialism may result in it being withdrawn from the Conference.

Copyright
All authors of papers presented at the conference will be required to accept a copyright release from AEEMM in order to complete Proceedings of the Conference.

Notification of acceptance due date: 28thJuly 2014
Camera-ready papers due date: 28th September 2014
